Over Time, The Line Will, and The Date Will Fade
An original 8x10 inch acrylic mixed media painting on canvas by The Chef Dr. Mark Twain Heaton III. "Over Time, The Line Will, and The Date Will Fade" is a deeply philosophical work about the passage of time and the erosion of boundaries. The upper half of the canvas is painted in grey, with bold multicolored letters spelling out the title — red, gold, white, green — vibrant and alive. A real June 2016 calendar page is collaged directly onto the canvas, anchoring the piece in a specific moment in time.
Below, the canvas turns to black. The letters continue, but they dissolve — fading, fragmenting, barely legible — as if being swallowed by darkness and time. The message is clear: as life moves forward, we lose track of days and dates. The lines we once swore we would never cross begin to blur. We drift into territories we once would never have entered. The line fades. And we cross.
