I DEDICATE THIS BOOK TO MY DEAR MOTHER. HER LOVE FOR ANIMALS IS ONLY SURPASSED BY HER LOVE FOR FAMILY, AND OVER THE YEARS MANY DOGS HAVE BEEN A MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY.
I have always loved dogs! I also love poetry. I decided to combine the two and write a short poem for every A.K.C. Recognized breed. For those who are not aware, A.K.C. is the American Kennel Association. They are the dogs you will see on the dog shows on television. The A.K.C. has a lists of the specific standard traits for each breed of dog. The dog shows will rate how well each dog represents it's breed by living up to those traits'. The show demonstrates what qualities each individual dog has to offer to their specific breed if he or she is bread.
I have also written a poem for dogs on the FSS (Foundation Stock Service) list of dogs. These breeds are Not Fully Recognized, yet, by the A.K.C.
For all dog lovers, I hope you enjoy this book. For all non-dog lovers , you don't know the fun, friendship, and love your missing out on!
