There is an old legend from Ethiopia that tells of two nomads watching their goats eat bright red coffee berries. Every time the goats ate the beans, he would kick, jump, and dance with delight. Curious, the nomads tried the beans themselves and discovered something magnificent.
The men experimented with many ways to prepare the beans until they finally created an amazing drink — one that opened the eyes, awakened the mind, gave energy to the body, brought peace to the spirit, and encouraged conversation among people. They called it “The Bean Juice of the Gods.”
Today, we simply know it as COFFEE.
Inspired by this legend, my travels, my faith, and a lifetime devoted to hospitality and flavor, I created my own “Bean Juice of the Gods.” A coffee crafted to be worthy of gods and goddesses themselves — bold enough for the refined for sophisticated palates of Chefs, and now available for you to enjoy. This is where you find flavored coffee. I have chosen to do 12oz bags because this size bag offers enough delicious coffee to enjoy the same flavor more that once , not just sample. I personally selected these beans from coffee growers around the world. I saw the fields where the coffee was grown. I visited the packers and shippers. I will say I changed a couple packers, and shippers, for reasons of my own. And while in Brazil I had to spend a couple of nights inside the fence of the Coca Cola bottling plant. While some local leadership worked out their differences. However, all that said, I was blessed to meat the people who worked, managed , and owned these fields. around the world. I was most pleased to share a cup of coffee with these people who grew and farmed the very coffee I'm brining you today. In many cases , I had the wonderful chance to enjoy drinking cups of coffee in the fields where it was grown with the wonderful people who grew it.
I do need to say here that I turned down many coffee growers before I found the right ones. Coffee has to be enjoyed at all levels. From begin to end. This means Organic responsible growing practices. Workers treated properly. And a practice of not harming local people , wild life, flora and fauna, Some people may say I am too picky when it comes to my coffee. However, I don't think I can be picky enough when I'm making the "Bean Juice of the Gods!" ,and Goddesses of course,. Besides my coffee has to be right it has my reputation as a chef riding on it, and my face printed on every bag!
So of course, I have made it a point to select the best bean, and flavor combination to perfectly complement each other in a perfect dance of flavor and taste that create a truly heavenly ambiance in every sip. So please go ahead indulge !!
